What skill does a game developer need?
It depends.
A one-man game developer needs so many skills such as business skills, technical skills, and artistic skills.
A game developer working in a team would just need to know programming and game design.
Video game development is sort of like a combination of software engineering and art with business operations included.
It is very demanding. Here is just some of the stuff that goes into making a successful video game.
1. Market research
2. Game design requirements made based on market research
3. Game design requirements are implemented into game programming, game design, art, and sound.
4. Game testing is done and bugs/errors are fixed
5. Game is marketed and sold
