AritMazeTic : a math/maze game [Web]

Post by nextdoorgamedev »

Hi all,

AritMazeTic (available here https://www.crazygames.com/game/aritmazetic) is a web-browser game I developed using Unity and published only CrazyGame so far. The game may end up on Android/iOS at some point depending on the time I have and the feedbacks it gets.

As the name indicates, the game is about arithmetic and mazes. You move your square from cell to cell changing you score depending on the operation shown on the cell (see gif below). You may roam freely or in a procedurally generated maze. There are several game modes available (like best score after 100 moves, reach 50000 points as fast as possible or just infinite play without objectives...) so you can play 5 minutes or 5 hours.

I'm interested in any kind feedback. It can be about the game difficulty, its graphics, its objectives (are they clear enough? would you think of better achievements ?).

I hope you'll have fun playing. Thanks in advance to those who will answer.

It is a very interesting concept!

The game is simple and fun.

It fails to load on Firefox. I got it working on Google Chrome.

Thanks for the feedback.

I'm sorry about the Firefox issue. On my computer it works on Firefox (87.0), Chrome (89.0.4389.114) and Edge (89.0.774.63). I guess it might be related to some addons but it will be hard for me to find out.

I played on the middle difficulty, but there was zero challenge whatsoever. It's a good concept, but needs to be tweaked for difficulty. Like if I had to plan moves ahead that would be a good amount of difficulty.

Thanks for this feedback.

Actually, the only levels that are supposed to be challenging (in term of finishing the level) are "reach 1,000,000" and "survive 500 moves" in hard difficulty. For the rest of the game, the difficulty is about having a score good enough to earn stars. But it's something that I'll rework totally (star, bonus they gives, etc.) so I'll tweak difficulty at the same time so that the expected difficulty becomes clearer (and more difficulty/objective combination become challenging).

By the way, I just uploaded a fixed version that should make the game easier to read. Camera no longer follow the player square, it doesn't move at all now.

Haha, looks funny, the cat is simply drawn but pretty cool. Reminds me of Rip n' Dip mascot :D

This is addicting! Great game to kill boredom. I also love browser car games like Drift hunters.

Hi all,

AritMazeTic has been upgraded. New graphics and a lot of achievement to guide players in the game. It's still free to play at: https://www.crazygames.com/game/aritmazetic

Here is a quick gif with some gameplay:
